E-CIGARETTES – WHAT IS THE CONCEPT AND HOW THEY WORK
E-cigarettes have been around since before 1963. Herbert Gilbert patented a smokeless non-tobacco cigarette. Gilbert’s thought was to replace the burning tobacco and paper with heated, moist, flavored air. When Gilbert tried to sell the idea of an e-cigarette, he failed. Later in 2003, a Chinese pharmacist named Hon Lik patented the first nicotine based e-cigarette. He then produced and sold them thus creating a new trend among smokers by using the refillable e-cigarette. Anyone from a novice to the most experienced smoker are capable of using e-cigs.
WHAT IS E-LIQUID?
The e-cigarette uses e-liquid vape juice to produce vapor. The e-liquid contains a mixture of Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin(VG). The VG and PG are then nixed with flavors and nicotine. E-liquid comes in a variety of flavors like banana, strawberry, bubble gum, mocha, watermelon, cheesecake, caramel, chocolate, and many others.
THE E-CIGARETTE COMPONENTS
Common components in e-cigarettes include a liquid delivery and container system, an atomizer, and a power source. E-cigarettes come in many shapes and sizes. Many e-cigarettes look like analog tobacco cigarettes. The most common types of e-cigarettes are refillable as well as rebuildable. Other e-cigarettes are disposable devices that combine the components into a single unit that is thrown away when the liquid or battery life is depleted. E-cigarettes are powered by a lithium battery and is usually rechargeable.
HOW TO VAPE
Simply inhale to activate the atomizer. The atomizer vaporizes the e-liquid and turns it into a mist. The process of inhaling on an e-cigarette is called ‘vaping’. The e-liquid goes into the tank. These can look like the filter of a cigarette or a glass tank depending on the style of e-cig. When the user ‘vapes’, the vapor enters the vapers’ lungs causing the same nicotine high a smoker gets from a tobacco-based cigarette. The vapor looks just like cigarette smoke but has none of the harmful carcinogens as regular cigarettes and is not smoke.
CONCLUSION
The e-cigarette eliminates the odor from smoke and the mess left from the ash. Additionally e-cigs eliminate the risk of fire from a lit cigarette. They are simple and easy to use and maintain. And most places allow you to use them on their premises.
